Sophie Crane is an Executive Producer and Senior Editor at Pushkin Industries and Scholar-in-Residence at Dartmouth College. She lives in Norwich, VT.

Sophie works across many projects at Pushkin, including Jill Lepore's The Last Archive, Lauren Ober’s The Loudest Girl in the World, and Rick Rubin’s Broken Record. Sophie led the team that adapted Florence Williams' Heartbreak into an audiobook, which received a rare NYT book review and which Apple named one of the best audiobooks of 2022. She also manages a team of producers, helps develop and pilot new shows, and leads educational workshops.

In addition to her work at Pushkin, Sophie teaches radio journalism at Dartmouth College.

Previously, Sophie was a Series Producer at PBS’s flagship investigative show, FRONTLINE. As a founding member of FRONTLINE’s podcast team, Sophie worked to translate FRONTLINE's legacy film brand into the audio space.

Sophie has worked with Rhode Island Public Radio, StoryCorps, and North Country Public Radio. She taught documentary storytelling at the Transom Story Workshop. She has also lectured and taught podcasting workshops at Brown University, Harvard University, PRX, The Gates Foundation, and more.

In college, Sophie co-founded Now Here This, an online platform for student produced audio storytelling.

Sophie graduated from Brown University with a degree in History. She is a Truman Scholar and a Royce Fellow. Her storytelling work has won numerous awards, including a Webby, a PRNDI award, and the Alfred I. duPont-Awards’ highest honor, a Gold Baton.
